Advantages of the Wooden Structural Frame
1️⃣ No Dew Point or Condensation
Metal elements create a dew point and can accumulate condensation inside the insulation layer.
A wooden structure does not create thermal bridges, ensuring stable thermal insulation and preventing condensation inside the dome structure.
2️⃣ Natural Ventilation of the Structure
The wooden structural frame with a thickness of 100 mm creates a ventilated air gap between the PVC membrane and the insulation layer.
This allows natural ventilation of the structure and prevents moisture accumulation.
3️⃣ Long Structural Lifespan
The wooden structural frame has an estimated service life of 25–30 years.
The structure maintains stability and is not subject to corrosion like metal frames.
4️⃣ Natural Wood Interior Aesthetics
The wooden frame creates a warm and natural interior atmosphere inside the dome.
Unlike metal pipes, the structure looks cozy and blends harmoniously with the natural environment of a glamping site.
5️⃣ Possibility of Disassembly and Relocation
The geodesic dome is assembled from separate structural elements.
If necessary, the dome can be dismantled and installed at another location without loss of structural or operational properties.
